“Paramedics now using Telemedicine”
About: During the pandemic the Hippo Health app was used by paramedics en route in the ambulance to an emergency caller to maybe avoid the spread of the corona virus if the patient didn’t need to go to the hospital. This is a video coverage showing how the app was used to have video consultations with the 911 caller so that the paramedics could assess if the patient might have corona and if they needed transportation to a hospital or if they could stay at home.

“The acceptability and safety of video triage for ambulance service patients and clinicians during the COVID-19 pandemic”
About: A study introduced by the Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust to investigate if video technology could be helpful to improve remote triage in ambulances. The video technique was tested early during the Covid-19 pandemic to improve remote triage. The patients who received a video call also got to respond to a survey afterward to evaluate the method.
