About: Article about the simulation that was performed in the project ‘Videostöd för prehospital bedömning av barn’. During the simulation two different hardwares were tested: the head camera JodaPro and a mobile phone camera to be able to simulate a scenario where video consultation could be used between the ambulance and the emergency department for children in VGR.

“Flera barn kan slippa sjukhus när videostöd i ambulans blir verklighet”
About: Article describing the project “Videostöd är prehospital bedömning av barn” that is performed by Sahlgrenska ambulanssjukvården, Drottning Silvias Barn och Ungdomssjukhus (DSBUS) and PICTA Prehospital Innovationsarena. The aim of the project is to examine the possibilities of adding video to today’s consultation calls between the ambulance and DSBUS. Since children rarely have the need for ambulance care a lot of them are being undertriaged or overtriaged and video could then be used to reduce this.

“Do Video Calls Improve Dispatcher-Assisted First Aid for Infants with Foreign Body Airway Obstruction? A Randomized Controlled Trial/Simulation Study”
About: An interventional study performed to assess if video calls could improve the results of foreign body airway obstruction (FBAO) by bystanders on infants. One group in the study got to perform first aid with video call and one group with audio call, which were both instructed by the medical emergency dispatcher.

“Sacred Heart Pediatric Telemedicine Ambulance”
About: Video coverage of a little girl who got sick a few weeks ago and had to be transported to the Sacred heart children’s hospital with an ambulance. Usually it’s scary for children to ride an ambulance but with new technology from swyMed she could see and talk to the doctor in the ambulance via a video camera. The ambulance staff could also get a video consultation from the in-hospital pediatrician to receive support in diagnosing and an extra pair of eyes on monitoring the child.
