“SatCare: Remote Support for Ambulance Clinicians in Medical Emergencies”
About: An interventional study to evaluate if the transmission of video and ultrasound images to in-hospital doctors could save time and improve patient care. Ultrasound scans were taken in the ambulance and a video summary of the patient’s condition was recorded and sent to the hospital. En route to the hospital the ambulance staff received feedback from the consultant doctor.

“Telemedical Support for Prehospital Emergency Medical Service (TEMS)”
About: Interventional study that was performed in Aachen, Germany. The purpose was to examine if the use of a telemedcine-EMS physician instead of on the scene was safe and feasible for non-life-threatening cases. The paramedics in the ambulance could talk to the EMS-physician via video and audio to diagnose and treat the patient. The telemedicine system was developed in the TemRas project.
